QATAR TEAM TRAINING CAMP


The Qatar National Snooker Team Began thier training camp of Ireland on the 3rd of July when they played carlow in a two session match 50 frame match and carlow playing at home came out 32 - 28 winners,Star for the qatar snooker team was Khamis al Obaidly making a 56 break in his match against the Ireland 18 champion Andrew Gray.On the 4th Of July Qatar challengers were top club Monkstown from Dublin, There team consisted of former World Runner Up Robert Murphy, Qatar team lost the first seesion 7 frames to 12 and the best player was Abdulla Attari winning 3-0, in the Second Session Qatar team won 9-7 and the highligt was the performance of Khamis Al Obaidly when he beat Captain Robert Murphy 2-0 and made highest braek so far in the camp with a 58 break, Murphy said after the match that khamis has improved 100% since last season, and Qatar team are going to be very strong in Asia in the next 5 years. in Session 3 the score line was Qatar 16-19 behind and Qatar began very good with excellent wins by Mohanna Al Obaidly beating Irish International David O Sullivan 2-1, and Khamis O baidly produced again a great display to beat Irish International Mark Owens who had earlier beaten his brothers Ali and Mohanna in earlier match, but defeats by Ali Obaidly, Abdulla Al Kaabi, Ahmed Al Meer. and Abdulla Attari gave the match to the Ireland club side 31-25.on the 5th july irealnd will play waterford, witch will include the new Irish senior champion Vincent Muldoon and the team include 4 international players so it will be difficult for the qatar team, but National Coach PJ Nolan said that all the matches and training are vital in learning the players to perform at thier best under pressure, and along with 8 hours a day training schedule, there are 6 club matches planned and 3 international matches, so i am sure the qatar team will learn from thier visit to ireland.
